Position Overview and Purpose
Private Wealth Advisors are the primary managers of the firm’s client relationships and are the most experienced advisors in the firm. The position is responsible for onboarding new clients, managing existing client relationships, and formulating advice but may rely on technical specialists to develop recommendations within an individual specialist’s area of expertise. Private Wealth Advisors are expected to develop new client relationships and often work with, train, and supervise team members in Financial Planning and Client Services roles. This key role will expand our client base and enhance our reputation for exceptional financial guidance.
Specific responsibilities include, but will not be limited to:
- Have a deep understanding of our client’s planning philosophy and ability to make recommendations for planning solutions while becoming a trusted source of information for clients and team members.
- Collaborate with Marketing and Advisory teams to generate leads, qualify client prospects, and identify sales opportunities in alignment with the firm’s target marketing profiles.
- Develop client relationships and become intimately familiar with each client’s financial circumstances, needs, and objectives to provide strategic recommendations.
- Guide the client through the onboarding experience in a consistent manner, educating them on the firm’s planning philosophy and introducing them to their Associate Private Wealth Advisor and servicing team.
- Assess the client’s full range of financial planning areas, including risk, investments, estate, tax, retirement, business planning, philanthropic planning, education planning, and cash flow management.
- Make critical decisions for client financial plan recommendations and present them in a clear, simple, and educational manner.
- Develop long-term relationships and conduct annual reviews of the clients’ financial plans to ensure they are meeting their goals and identifying areas to make improvements.
- Review meeting agendas and presentation materials for client meetings, ensuring the highest quality and completion of the analysis, planning, recommendations, and presentation.
- Directly oversee an Associate Private Wealth Advisor and the Financial Planning team. Train, support, and coach advisory and client servicing team members.
- Review Advisory, Marketing, and Operations processes for improvement opportunities. Lead projects that enhance these processes for the firm.
Education and Industry Experience Required:
- Exemplary written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex topics clearly and simply.
- Identify and approach prospective clients within the firm’s target market and identify opportunities for engagement.
- Highly motivated, result-oriented relationship builder with a proactive customer focus.
- Minimum of 7 years within the insurance, investment, or financial service industry.
- Hold Idaho Life, Health, and Long-Term Care insurance licenses and FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses.
- Highly proficient technical skills with the ability to analyze quantitative and qualitative information.
- Industry-relevant certifications such as ChFC, CFP, CFA, CWM, and RICP.
- Coachable, self-aware, passionate about learning, and willing to be vulnerable.
Desired:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or other business-related degrees.
- Formal experience leading, managing, and coaching a team.
Additional Requirements:
- Pass extensive FINRA background screening, which may include, but is not limited to, criminal background checks (federal, state, and local), credit check, education verification, skills assessments, and personality profile.
- Tech-savvy with experience in both proprietary and mass-market systems.
